James W. Condon, 76, of Hebron passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on October 6, 1946 and was a son of the late James Melvin Condon and Hazel Warfield Condon.
Mr. Condon attended schools in Dorchester County. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. On September 25, 1975 he married the former Linda Harding who passed away on December 23, 2013. On February 12, 2016, he married the former Rhonda Fitzhugh. Mr. Condon was owner/operator of his dump truck company and he would also pushed snow for the county. He enjoyed catching and eating crabs, listening to the Jones Boys and the Fabulous Hub Caps and was an avid cat lover. Mr. Condon also enjoyed going to Ocean City to get Thrasher's French Fries.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda Condon of Hebron and her family, a daughter Jennifer Condon-Knotts of Cambridge, three grandchildren Aubree Fitzhugh, Trey Fitzhugh and Kaley VanDyke, two great grandchildren Kingston Johnson and Jakai Henderson, as well as a host of cousins and friends from the Neck District area. Besides his parents and his first wife, Mr. Condon is preceded in death by his cat Stripes; his grandparents James Elmer Condon and Bessie Marshall Condon; aunts Della Warfield and Edith Mason; and uncle Medford Warfield.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11am at Nelson Memorial Church in Hebron with Rev. Charles Fiore officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Pallbearers will be Jamie Fitzhugh, Trey Fitzhugh, Toby Hurley, Travis McDowell, Jordan Mitchell and Shane Palamaras. Honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Taylor, Earl Hurley and Brian Fitzhugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost or to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
