Jane Dodson (Dodson) Brown

Jane D. Brown, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Cambridge on June 24, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Herbert R. Dodson, Sr. and Thelma Hurley Dodson.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1954. On June 25, 1954, she married Kelly T. Brown, who passed away on June 22, 1985. She was a secretary for Dr. Peter Rieckert and later became a lab Tech at Dorchester General Hospital. She was an avid book reader, doing genealogy, decorating cakes, and having meetings at her home for the Women's Missionary Union. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters Debbie Marshall and husband Steve of East New Market and Kelly Lynn Hunt and husband Tim of Cambridge, a grandson Kelly Marshall and wife Makenzie of North Carolina, a brother Herbert Dodson, Jr. and wife Debbi of South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her twin John Dodson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon and Pastor Steve Trice officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
