Jane B. Langrall

Jane B. Langrall, 88, of Milford, DE, formerly of Church Creek, MD, passed away on Wednesday, May 14 2014, with her family by her side. She was born on October 17, 1925 in Whiteville, North Carolina to the late Henry V. and Jennie Fripp Batten.

Jane graduated from Bartlett High School in Tennessee class of 1943. On August 6, 1944, she married the late William J. Langrall at the Zion United Methodist Church in Cambridge; he passed away on May 3, 2008. In 1981 she received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Salisbury State College. After she received her bachelor's degree she was employed by the state of Maryland as a home health care provider for Dorchester County. Mrs. Langrall was a seamstress and a home decorator. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the American Contract Bridge League since 2000. Jane was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church and active in Sunday School. She was the past president and secretary of the Cambridge Women's Club and was a member of the Eunice Sluyter circle. Mrs. Langrall enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the Choptank Spinners and was an animal lover. Jane was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother in law.

Mrs. Langrall is survived by a daughter Alison L. Romano and husband Dominic of Milford, DE, four sons William R. Langrall and wife Pamela of Ft. Payne, AL, Alan B. Langrall and wife Cynthia of Normal, IL, J. Douglas Langrall and wife Teri of Cambridge and David S. Langrall of Cambridge, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a brother Kenneth F. Batten and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband she is preceded in death by a brother Henry V. Batten.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A with Rev. William Davis officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust St., Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
