Jane Dayton Richardson, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Richardson Park, DE on June 15, 1922 to the late Richard C. and Ethel Gill Dayton.
She moved to Cambridge as a young girl. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1939. She married the late Crawford Watson Richardson on June 29, 1951, who passed away on January 4, 1996. Mrs. Richardson worked at Phillips Packing Company, later she worked at Leggetts in Cambridge and also Dorchester County Treasurers Office. She was a member of the local 1278 A. A. R. P. and a national member.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Richardson and wife Suzanne who she had lived with for the past 4 years at their home in Cambridge, one step son Jerry L. Richardson of Silver Spring, two grandchildren, Heather N. Richardson (Jeremiah Bourne) of Cambridge and Stephanie R. Richardson of Bethesda, twin great granddaughters Kennedy and Kamryn Bourne of Cambridge, one nephew William Aaron and wife Janice of Salisbury, and a special friend Ghemayne Henry. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Richardson was predeceased by a sister Marjorie Aaron Pikesville, and two nieces.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Richardson, Jay Robinson, Wayne Robinson, Kirk Collins, Bill Smith and Mike Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Brooks and Charlie Bramble.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
