Jena M. Thomas

Jena M. Thomas, 29, of Town Point passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her home. She was born in Easton on November 15, 1980 and was a daughter of David C. Thomas, Jr. and Anne Baldwin Thomas.

Jena graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1998. She attended Virginia Wesleyan College and received her Master's Degree in education from Salisbury University. Jena was a teacher at Easton Middle School. She also worked for Jimmy and Sooks Restaurant where she made the homemade desserts.A Jena enjoyed boating, fishing, cooking and reading. She is survived by her parents David C. Thomas, Jr. and Anne Baldwin Thomas of Town Point, a sister Shannon C. Vanderberg and husband Ryan of Seattle, Washington, maternal grandfather Paul R. Hughes of Cambridge, two nieces Madeline Clare Vanderberg and Elizabeth Anne Vanderberg, a nephew Colin Chase Vanderberg, three aunts Nancy T. Fisher of Lewisetta, VA, Betty Osburn ofA Tappahannock, VA and Helen C. Smith of Reedville, VA, an uncle Rick Hughes of Sarasota, FL, special cousins Samuel C. Fisher of Heathsville, VA, Susan M. Meredith of Cambridge,A Bobby Kaye Robinson of Cambridge MD, D. Keith A Fisher of Lewisetta, Ann Kramer Osburn of Tappahannock, Elizabeth A. Osburn ofA Montross, Gordon K. Smith of Richmond and Catherine C. Smith of Reedville . Jena is preceded death by her brother Ryan Chase Thomas and her grandmother Clare Meredith Hughes. A Pallbearers will be Samuel Fisher, Lewis Hardy, Christopher Jansen, Douglas Gray, Thomas Spicer and Keith Fisher.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Pam Bockard officiating. Interment will follow at the adjoining churchyard. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Antioch United Methodist Church, c/o Susan Meredith 5413 Town Point Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
