Jill M. Johnson

Jill M. Johnson, 46, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on September 19, 1978 and was a daughter of Kenneth H. and Linda Smith Johnson.

Jill graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1996. She is best remembered by her classmates as playing Nelly Forbush in the senior class play South Pacific. She attended Salisbury University Perdue School of Business and also studied at a University in Chile. Jill loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. In her youth, she sang with the church, in high school she was a member of the All-Shore Chorus, and as a young adult, she participated in community theater and loved singing karaoke with her friends.

Jill also loved animals, and treated her friend's pets as her own, often bringing them toys and treats whenever she would visit. Jill recently lost her beloved cat, "Tiny" whom she had for 20 years. Jill is survived by her precious dog, Ian who she rescued from the 2017 hurricane evacuations of Puerto Rico. 

Jill had an incredibly kind and giving heart, and was always there for friends and loved ones in their time of need. Everyone knew she was only a phone call away. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays, graduations, holidays, and other events with those she loved. She was also a major supporter when friends or family had personal, health, or other challenges in their lives, and would bring her world famous beef stew in case of emergency. 

Jill had a great love and talent for making jewelry and gave them as gifts to her friends and special people in her life.

Besides her parents, Jill is survived by her sisters Annette Dashiell (Jimmy) and Tanya Doty, two nieces Erica Tilghman and Abby Doran, a nephew Ryan Bramble. 

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 12pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Douglas J. Wooten officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
