Joan G. Mowbray

Joan G. Mowbray, 67, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on October 11, 1942 and was a daughter of the late David P. and Lucille Parrott Garrett.
She graduated from Easton High School class of 1960. Mrs. Mowbray also attended and graduated 1962 from nursing school at Dorchester Hospital where she received her LPN. Mrs. Mowbray continued to work at Cambridge Hospital and retired in 1980. On August 24, 1967 she married John L. Mowbray. He passed away on July 28, 2003. She enjoyed sewing, puzzles, gardening and helped with the school plays at Cambridge South Dorchester High School.
She is survived by two sons John L. Mowbray, Jr. of Cambridge and Bernard G. Mowbray and wife Jennifer of Cambridge, two sisters Linda Garrett of Baltimore and Susie Shores of Trappe, a brother John Garrett of Bishops Head and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Cemetery in Secretary. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
