Jo Ann Brocato Wright

Jo Ann Brocato Wright, 84, of Easton passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. She was born in Cambridge on October 2, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Joseph S. Brocato, Jr. and Beulah Fitzhugh Brocato.

Ms. Wright graduated from Cambridge High School class 1954 and went to University of Maryland College Park and later to Towson University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She spent her life as a teacher and finished her career as a finance director with the State of Maryland. She married John Hamel Spedden Wright in June 1956,  divorced in 1976. Since then they have reconciled socially, and attend family gatherings and other social events together. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and classic movies.

She is survived by three children John J.B. Wright and wife Jane of Burtonville, MD, Julia George and husband Ricky of Trappe, Janine Conway and husband Tom of Queenstown, six grandchildren Andrew George, Jennifer Reynolds, Julianne Cannon, Kaitlin George, John L. P. Wright, and Ryan Conway, a great grandchild Amelia Cannon, a sister Bonnie Bidwell and husband John of Easton, and a nephew Rick Saunders and a niece Ami- Jo Parker. Along with her parents, Ms. Wright is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Brocato III.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, April 16th 11am at East New Market Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to a senior member of your immediate family. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
