John D. Garrett

John D. Garrett, 77, of Secretary passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at his home. He was born in Easton Md. on July 6, 1946 and was the son of the late David and Lucille  Parrott Garrett.

Mr. Garrett graduated from Easton High School class of 1964. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Garrett worked for several businesses in the county as a mechanic. He enjoyed flying and building model airplanes and doing machine work. Mr. Garrett also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91, and the Eastern Shore Aeromodelers. 

He is survived by a son Richard Garrett and companion Mandy Peters and a daughter Donna Bloodsworth and husband Brandon, all of Cambridge, Md., as well as a son Bobby Rhae and wife Christen, of Pittsburgh Pa. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as a sister Susie Shores and husband Tom of Trappe, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Garrett is preceded in death by two sisters Joan Mowbray and Linda Garrett.  

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11am at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
