John E. Mullikin, 76 of Cambridge, passed away at the Dorchester General Hospital on Tuesday March 9, 2010. He was born at Easton on November 12, 1933, and was a son of the late John Wheedon and Anna Carroll Mullikin.
He graduated from Havre de Grace High School in 1950. On September 3, 1961 he was married to the former Beverly Parks. Mr. Mullikin served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground and White Sands New Mexico. For many years he had worked as a stock broker and had worked for Folger, Nolan, Fleming & Douglas in Cambridge. He was a member of Choptank Memorial Post # 7460 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Clearview Country Club. Mr. Mullikin enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled cabinet maker. He had enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing chess. He had been in failing health for several years and was a patient at Dorchester General Hospital where he passed away on Tuesday evening.
Survivors include his wife Beverly P. Mullikin of Cambridge, one son Michael P. Mullikin and his wife Christon Mullikin of Easton, two grand children Abigail Mullikin of Easton and Kevin Mullikin also of Easton. He is also survived by a brother Phillip Mullikin of Manchester, two sisters Sara Porter of Kentucky and Susan Mullikin of Abingdon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Joan Reid.
A memorial service will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge on Friday morning at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Drew Gensen officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
