John C. “Jack” Boatwright, 96, of Falls Church, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was born in Bertha, Minn. On December 1, 1923 and was a son of the late David and Cora Cain Boatwright.
Mr. Boatwright served in the U.S. Navy during WW II on a submarine and was honorably discharge as a Motor Machinist’s Mate Second Class. He was a construction consultant and built 32 churches in the Eastern United States and one in Canada. Mr. Boatwright enjoyed hunting, boating and cooking.
He is survived by his wife Eddie Lou Boatwright of Falls Church, VA, a daughter Janice Boatwright Bryson of Nashville, TN, a son John Boatwright, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, two grandchildren Joe Bryson, Jr. (Christy) of Calhoun, GA, and Jenna Bryson Rummel (Jonathan) of Nashville, TN, four great grandchildren Joe Bryson III (Brynn) of Marietta, GA, Amelia Bryson Wright (Matthew) of Canyon, TX , Alexander Bowen of Nashville, TN and Gracie Rummel of Nashville, TN, dear friends Amos and Sue Dodge, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his first wife Gladys Bradshaw Boatwright, Mr. Boatwright is preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
A private graveside service will be held at Dorchester Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
