John H. "Buddy" Buchanan, Jr.

John H. “Buddy” Buchanan, Jr., 84, of East New Market passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Talbot Hospice in Easton. He was born in Cambridge on May 29, 1939 and was a son of the late John H. Buchanan, Sr. and Edna Hill Buchanan.

Mr. Buchanan attended schools in Cambridge. He married the former Judy Stanley who passed away on October 26, 1995. Mr. Buchanan worked on the water his entire life and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his son John D. Buchanan and wife Penny, two granddaughters Jennifer Buchanan-Acierno and husband Ron and Heather Satterfield and husband David, two great grandchildren Norie Acierno and Nolan Acierno, and two nieces. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Buchanan is preceded in death by three brothers James Buchanan, C. Kenneth Buchanan and William Buchanan.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 10am at East New Market Cemetery with Mr. David Tolley officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
