John "Joey" Joseph Brown III

John J. “Joey” Brown III, 27, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. He was born on December 24, 1989 and was a son of Kim Cochran Brown and John Brown, Jr.

Joey graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 2009. He worked on the water and he enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and bowling. Joey especially loved his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Joey is survived by two brothers and a sister Jeffrey Cochran and wife Donna of Cambridge, Jamie Brown and wife Jessica of Cambridge and Ariel Brown of Cambridge, five nieces and nephews Krista, Rusty, Daniel, Kayleigh and Junior, maternal grandmother Barbara Stanton of North Carolina and maternal step grandmother Annie Hayward of Cambridge, three uncles Curtis Stanton and wife Kim of Cambridge, Wayne Stanton and wife Terry of Tennessee and Rob Stanton and wife Becky of North Carolina, several other aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Donald Stanton and paternal grandparents John Brown, Sr. and Evelyn Brown.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Family will receive friends from 11 to 1. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
