Joseph Michael "JoJo" Preston, 21, of Cambridge passed away on July 26, 2010 at Dorchester General Hospital. He was born in Cambridge on December 19, 1988 and was a son of Donna Barnes and Jody Preston.
Joseph attended schools in Cambridge and in Macomb, MI. he was previously employed for Allen Family Foods. Joseph liked to play basketball, video games and his favorite pastime was listening to music.
He is survived by his mother Donna Barnes and his stepfather David Barnes of Cambridge, his father Jody Preston and stepmother Brandi of Macomb, MI, two brothers Jason Robinson of Cambridge and Jacob Preston of Macomb, MI, a stepsister Ariah Hope Matos of Cambridge, maternal grandparents Betty and Leon Travers of Cambridge, paternal grandparents Keith Ted Preston and Patricia Preston of Roxbury, CT, several aunts and uncles Laura Laird and William Vasquez of Cambridge, Kathy Mowbray and Jeff Prahl of East New Market and Dusti Preston and her daughter Morgan of Weathersfield, CT, a nephew Jason Thomas Robinson of Cambridge, his fiancAC.e Rebecca Williams of Cambridge, several cousins Michael Laird and fiancAC.e Amanda Johnson of Cambridge, John Hastings and fiancAC.e Anna Sampson of Cambridge, Jessica and Shawn Hitch of Cambridge, Shannon Mowbray who is serving in Iraq, Brittany Travers of Cambridge, Brandy Travers of Virginia and Ashley Brooke Greenhawk of Cambridge, his three best friends Kevon Spencer, Shawn Hill and Robin Middleton, Jr. all of Cambridge. Joseph is preceded in death by an uncle Leon "Boogie" Travers.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Prahl, Mike Hastings, Michael Laird, Robin Middleton, Jr., James Demby and Shawn Hill.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Cambridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
