Judith A. Vickers, 74, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Cambridge on July 1, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Albert R. Anderson, Jr. and Estelle Mowbray Anderson.
Judy graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1957. On September 27, 1958, Judy married Donald "Sonny" Vickers, who passed away on May 27, 2004. Judy managed Stelens Wise Fashions for 20 some years. She had been manager of Heirloom Antiques Gallery. She loved animals, especially her cats. Judy was always busy doing something, before her health started to fail. She loved to go to the auction, make homemade candies, doing flower arrangements, refinished furniture, antiques and collectibles and many other things. Judy was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and loved her church family.
She is survived by her sister Faye Y. Madigan of Cambridge, sister in laws Jean Foxwell and Barbara Wozny and husband Phil, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Del Kailianu, Tom Blickenstaff, Paul Landers, Dennis Roe, Wallace Dodson and Eddie Elzey. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Mowbray, William D. Foxwell and Phil Wozny.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Faith Baptist Church, 108 Teal Lane, Cambridge, MD 21613.
