Justin J. Hand

Justin James Hand, 16, of Madison passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013. He was born on June 22, 1996, in Asheville, NC, and was the son of Scott and Jennifer Mills. Justin attended Cambridge-South Dorchester High School where he just finished his junior year. He was a passionate member of the Cross Country Team and Track Team. Among his many accomplishments in competition, Justin was the 2012 3200-meter run regional track champion. He placed second in the 2012 Cross Country Regional Meet, and in the 2011 and 2012 Cross Country State Championships, he placed in the top 25. Justin was employed by Palm Beach Willie's. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge. Justin is survived by his parents Scott and Jennifer Mills of Madison, two sisters Logan and Sara Ann Mills of Madison, paternal grandparents Louie and Patsy Mills of Waynesville, NC, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Gene and Patricia Coates. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Cambridge South Dorchester High School auditorium at 2475 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, Maryland 21613. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the CSD Cross Country Team and Track Team, 2475 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, Maryland 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
