Kathleen P. Mende

Kathleen Dashiell Parker Mende, 94 of Edgewater formerly of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the South River Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Taylor's Island on February 26, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Robert K. and Elsie Dashiell Parker.

Mrs. Mende was married to the late Seward Maxwell Mende, Sr. on December 25, 1937. Mrs. Mende was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She worked as a real estate agent for many years in Cambridge as well as being an artist of watercolors, as well as acrylics.

She is survived by a daughter Bonnie Elliott and her husband Daniel Elliott, Sr. of Edgewater, a son Seward M. Mende, Jr. and his wife Linda J. Mende of Salisbury, a granddaughter Christa Sensi of Salisbury, three grandsons Daniel Elliott, Jr. of Linthicum, Greg Elliott of West Virginia and Robert Elliott of Davidsonville. She is also survived by four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Seward Maxwell Mende, Sr.

There will be no memorial service as per Mrs. Mende's request. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in her name to the Seasons Hospice Foundation, 6934 Aviation Blvd. Suite N-R, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
