Kathryn K. "Kitten" Hickman

Kathryn “Kitten” K. Hickman, 86, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Autumn Lake Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge. She was born in Cambridge on July 9, 1938 and was a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Rogers Kennedy. 

Mrs. Hickman graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1956 where she played volleyball, basketball and in the band. She married Melvin G. Hickman, Jr. on November 25, 1956 and he passed away on August 14, 2024. Mrs. Hickman was a Teacher's Aide for the Dorchester County Public Schools for 30 years of service. She sang for the Chorus of Dorchester, played tennis and golf, hunting, and taught aerobics. Mrs. Hickman was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years, United Methodist Women's, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #91. 

She is survived by two sons Michael Hickman and wife Sheila of Linkwood and Gary Hickman and wife Tammy of Cambridge, two grandsons Tucker Hickman and wife Taylor and Tanner Hickman, a great grandson Lawson Hickman, a sister Karo Arnette of Seaford, a sister in law Carolyn Dennis of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with her son Rev. Gary S. Hickman and the Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimers Association.org
