Kay L. (King) Parks

Kay L. Parks, 83, of Madison passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Madison on April 20, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Lewis L. and Mamie Barrack King.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1958. In May of 1966, she married Larry T. Parks. Mrs. Parks worked at Chun King, Western Publishing and later at Mail Well. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, listening to Country Music with Conway Twitty being her favorite singer. Mrs. Parks also loved Christmas.

She is survived by her husband Larry Parks of Madison, a daughter Michelle Sears of Taylors Island, a brother Ray King of Cambridge, a sister Fay Willey and husband Eldridge of Madison, a special niece whom was raised like a daughter Heather Nash and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Mrs. Parks is preceded in death by a sister May Ann Windsor.

Pallbearers will be Mike Parks, Doug Parks, Chris Nash, Dave Sears, William Barrack and Charles Amos Bromwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Horseman and David Horseman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Richard Prahl officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 909 Progress Circle Ste. 400, Salisbury, MD 21804.
