Kenneth W. Hampton

Kenneth W. Hampton, 62, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at his home with family and friends by his side. He was born in Chilhowie, VA on July 3, 1955 and was a son of the late Dr. Kenneth Hampton and Billie Sturgill Hampton.
He graduated from Marion Senior High School in Marion, VA, and he received his AA Degree in Technology, in South Carolina. On May 9, 2009, he married the former Angelita Villamil. He was employed with Interstate Container until his health started to decline in January of 2017. He enjoyed riding and working on his Jeep.
He is survived by his wife Angelita Hampton of Cambridge, four children Becky Davidson and husband Richie of Saltville, VA, Mandi Clayman and husband Charles of Castlewood, VA, Andrew Hampton of Cambridge and Samantha Hampton of Cambridge, five grandchildren Hayley Davidson, Hannah Davidson, Hollie Davidson, Emma Clayman and Matthew Clayman, a special friend Paul Szolis of Mardela Spring, a sister Mary Barnett and husband Tony of Lynchburg, VA, mother in law Glenda Villamil of Cambridge and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jayson Bleyer officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Per Kenny’s request no flowers and those memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
