Kenneth P. Richardson, 81, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Cambridge on March 12, 1932 and was a son of the late Beulah Taylor Burton and Philip Richardson.
He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 22 years of service. After the service he was employed at Coldwater Seafood and retired in 1994. On June 30, 1982, he married the former Brenda Jarrett. He enjoyed cars, lawn mowers, collected coins and his dog Lucy Lou. He was a member of American Legion Post #91 and Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW.
He is survived by his wife Brenda J. Richardson of Cambridge, two grandchildren Dennis Scott Aaron and David Philip Richardson, two great grandsons Dennis Scott Aaron, Jr. and Elliott Aaron, a step son James Anderson of Cambridge, two step grandchildren Sue Ann Anderson and Ryan Lee Anderson, three sisters Kay Harding and husband Bobby of Reids Grove, Peggy Stanfield of St. Michaels, Frances Murphy of Cambridge, a brother Marvin Richardson and companion Nola Buck of Easton and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by two sons David Allen Richardson and Robert Scott Richardson and a daughter Debrene Cusick.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Aaron, James Anderson, George Taylor, Mel Adkins, Terry McCollister, Greg Phillips and Kenny Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Richardson and Bobby Harding.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A in Cambridge with Apostle Solomon Bramble and Pastor Thomas Skyler officiating. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Greater Works Christian Assembly, 3020 Center Drive, Cambridge, MD 21613.
