Kim Ann Brohawn

June 12, 1967 — June 9, 2017

Kim Ann Brohawn will be celebrating her 50th birthday with the angels in heaven after a long, hard battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She passed away on June 9, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury with her parents by her side.

Kim was born and raised in Cambridge on June 12, 1967 to Garry and Carole Ann Cusick Brohawn. She attended Cambridge Wesleyan Church and graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1985. Her working career was in retail sales and waitressing until her health began to fail. She enjoyed the activities and making new friends while attending Pleasant Day Adult Day Care.

She loved Elvis Presley, Patrick Swayze, old movies, westerns, TV shows, music, and the soap operas especially “The Young and the Restless”. She will always be remembered for her big smile and thumbs up.

The family wishes to extend special thank you to Pleasant Day Adult Day Care, Shore Health Home Care, Dr. Eugene Newmier, Dr. Terry Dietrich, Dr. Christine Turner, Dorchester General Hospital and Peninsula Regional Medical Center for all your love and care of Kim. You will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

Besides her parents, Kim is survived by her brother Garry Brohawn, Jr. and his daughter Marijane Brohawn; an uncle Steve Brohawn and wife Barbie all of Cambridge; an aunt Anne Brohawn of North Carolina, cousins Stevie Brohawn (Cristi), Nickolas Brohawn (Angela), Amy Brohawn Howard (CJ), Hubert Brohawn III and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Hubert and Shirley Brohawn, George and Merilyn Cusick and an uncle Hubert Brohawn, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Steve Brohawn, Stevie Brohawn, Nickolas Brohawn, Amy Brohawn Howard, Darrell Ray Brohawn and Eric Doty.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1 pm at Immanuel United Church of Christ with Rev. Dale Krotee officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, MD 21613, Pleasant Day Adult Day Care, 2474 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
