Laura Etta (Parker) George

Laura Etta George, 91, of Cambridge, passed away on June 21, 2019 at her home.  She was born in Golden Hill, MD, on July 8, 1927 to the late John M. Parker and Hilda Ruark Parker.

Laura worked at Phillips Packing Co. and F.W. Woolworth in Cambridge.  She enjoyed more than anything taking care of her children and being a wife to Robert A. George for 68 years.

She is survived by her husband Robert George, her son John George, daughters Karen Wiggs and her husband Billy, Gloria George, Barbara Newnam and her wife Kim Whitten and Wanda George.  She also is survived by a grandson, Josh Newnam and his wife Denise, and two great grandchildren, Megan and Madison.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Gladys Hughes, Margaret Christopher, and Audrey Johnson, and her brother Robert Parker.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at 11 AM at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Joel Beiler officiating.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 26, 2019 at 1 PM at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.
