Laura L. Rhea, 51, of Fishing Creek passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Baltimore on August 24, 1960 and was a daughter of Donald and Janet Sherman Youngbar.
She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class 1979. She worked for the State Highway Department and retired 1992 due to her health. She loved her family.
She is survived by her husband David P. Rhea of Fishing Creek, two daughters Nicole Rhea of Fishing Creek and Casey Rhea of Fishing Creek, her parents Donald and Janet Youngbar of Fishing Creek, two sisters Beth Tolley of Church Creek and Lisa Youngbar of Hurlock, a brother Donnie Youngbar of Pasadena, MD, her maternal grandmother Helen Sherman and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Riverside Wesleyan Church in Fishing Creek. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Company. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Changing Fates Equine Rescue of Delaware, 29573 West Elliotts Dam Road, Laurel, DE 19956. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
