Laura E. Willey

Laura E. Willey, 83 of Cambridge, passed away at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge on Tuesday April 28, 2009. She was born in Cambridge on March 28, 1926, and was a daughter of the late Russell M. and Mary Goldsmith Rosetta.

She attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1943. On December 25, 1944 she was married to Norval E. "Stumpy" Willey. Mr. Willey passed away on May 24, 2002. Mrs. Willey worked at Western Publishing Co. in Cambridge as a color operator, and had retired after 26 years of service in 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Mrs. Willey had been in failing health for the past seven years, and had been a resident at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge for the past four years where she passed away on Tuesday evening.

Survivors include a daughter Brenda J. Mills and her husband Thomas H. Mills, Jr. of Cambridge, three sons N. Dennis Willey of Portland, Oregon, G. Wade Willey and his wife Barbara Willey of Cambridge and Jerry R. Willey of Salisbury. She is also survived by eight grandchildren David Ren of North Carolina, Meredith Rider, Denise Willey, Cassadi Chavez and Kristen Willey all of Portland Oregon, Thomas H. (Trey) Mills III of Cambridge, Brian Willey and his wife Amanda of Cambridge and Jason Willey and his wife Laura Willey of Seaford, DE, seven great grandchildren, one brother Tony Rosetta and his wife Evelyn Rosetta of Taylors Island and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters , Ruth Ann Dunn, Judy Rosetta Rue, Mary Hurley, Doris Mae Todd, one brother Russell J. Rosetta and a grandson G. Wade Willey, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the East New Market Cemetery with the Rev. Randall T. Blackmon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 209-C Milford Street, Salisbury, MD 21804. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
