Lawrence E. Bennett, Sr.

Lawrence E. Bennett, Sr., 72, of Crapo passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Greensburg, PA on September 23, 1943 and was a son of the late George and Susan Benya Bennett.

He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1961.  On October 2, 1965, he married the former Patsy Andrews. Mr. Bennett was employed at Princess Royal in Ocean City and retired in 2009. He enjoyed reading, and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife Patsy A. Bennett of Crapo, five children Theresa Rozengota and husband Patrick of Northern Virginia, Ramona Bennett of Crapo, Laura Bennett of Salisbury, Anne Emily Chappell and husband Christopher of Oklahoma, Lawrence E. Bennett, Jr. and wife Meredith of Cambridge, six grandchildren Courtney, Danielle, Kayla Brooke, Noah, Christopher, and Sophie, two sisters Susan Hoffman of Seaford, DE and Catherine Horney of Cambridge, a brother George Bennett of California and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by a sister Alma Watson.

Pallbearers will be David Andrews, Jimmy Andrews, Winslow Sully, Patrick Rozengota, Darren Jackson and TJ Abbott.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or to a charity of one’s choice.
