Leslie E. Dempster
February 22, 1961 — January 2, 2014
Leslie E. Dempster, 52, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born in Chicopee, MA on February 22, 1961 and was the daughter of Lester Whaples and Patricia Robbins Whaples.
She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1979. Leslie was employed at Evan Analytical in Easton at the time of her passing. She enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling, cooking, baking, gospel music and being with her family and friends. Leslie attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
She is survived by her son Adam Dempster and his wife Jesica of Salisbury, her parents Lester Whaples of Cambridge and Patricia Whaples of Cambridge, her nephew Graham Whaples and wife Brittany and two aunts Joyce Ewell of Cambridge and Pam Spurgeon of West Virginia. Leslie is preceded in death by her brother Randy Whaples.
Pallbearers will be Cory Willey, Josh Wheeler, Wes Cannon, Matt Lofland, Brian Micciche and Jaimie Nibblett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Martin Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friend on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 and one hour prior to the service.
