Levin M. “Tom” Niblett, Sr., 73, of Linkwood passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on August 2, 1942 and was a son of the late Frances Niblett Spear.
He attended schools in Cambridge. On Feb. 11, 1966, he married the former Helen Coffman. Tom served in the Army National Guard. He worked at Long Shoreman at the Cambridge Port and also at Pep Up. Tom enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. He was a member of Salvation Army.
He is survived by his wife Helen Niblett of Linkwood, a son Levin M. “Tommy” Niblett, Jr. and wife Sherri of Bucktown, a daughter Lisa N. Herbert and husband Alan of Woolford, a granddaughter Haley Niblett, an uncle and several aunts.
Pallbearers will be Charles Coffman, Sr., David Elzey, Sr., Otis Elzey, Jr., Ricky Wingate, Edgar Wingate, Jr., and Hansel "Buck" Travers, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 200 Washington Street, Cambridge with Col. William Crabson officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 91, Cambridge, MD 21613 or the Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
