Lewis E. Clark

August 5, 1950 — July 30, 2011

Lewis Edward Clark, 60, of Salisbury, departed this life on July 30, 2011, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, after a long illness. He was born in Cambridge on August 5, 1950.

Mr. Clark was a retired executive chef/restaurant manager. He was a 1970 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America of Hyde Park, NY. He was employed in a varied group of restaurants from Dover, DE to Ocean City, MD. Mr. Clark's last management position was at Bob Evans Farms Restaurant in Salisbury, where he was employed until his health began to fail. For the last 23 months, Mr. Clark had been a resident at Salisbury Nursing and Rehab Center in Salisbury. On October 24, 1970, Mr. Clark was united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony with Ann Wielgosz.

Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Clark of Salisbury and Valerie Clark Thompson of Seaford, DE. Valerie's husband is Dan Thompson formerly of Oxford, PA. Their family was blessed again with the birth of a grandson, Liam Thompson of Seaford, DE. Mr. Clark is also survived by his sister, Ellen Nichols and several close nieces and cousins. His parents, Ida Mae Willey Clark and John Clark both predeceased him.

Mr. Clark was an avid camper and hunter. He was Past Master of the Choptank Lodge #138 in East New Market, was an entered apprentice in Cambridge Lodge #66 and a member of the Tall Cedars. Mr. Clark moved with his family in 1991, from Cambridge to Salisbury. Mr. Clark was always there to lend a hand of support to his family, his friends and any stranger who asked. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jim Dickenson officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Clark's family will happily accept floral expressions of sympathy however if you would prefer to make a donation in his name, you may do so to the Friends of Blackwater, the Eagle Program, P.O.
