Linda A. Powley, 75, of Golden Hill passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on August 31, 1947 and a daughter of the late Eugene and Rhoda Pritchett Wheatley.
Mrs. Powley graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1965. On November 22, 1969 she married Bubby Powley. She retired from Dorchester County Clerk of Circuit Court. Mrs. Powley enjoyed going dancing, casinos, and having meals with her family and friends. She was a caring, loving family member and friend with a perpetual smile and was always eager to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Dorchester Seafood Heritage Association where she served as treasurer.
She is survived by her husband Bubby Powley of Golden Hill, a son Tommie Powley of Church Creek, four grandsons Kyle Powley and wife Whitney of East New Market, Grant Powley and fiancée Jordan Hyde of Cambridge, Ian Powley and special friend Maddie Gaskill of Cambridge and Zane Powley of Cambridge, two great grandchildren Delilah Powley and Cooper Powley, cousins Michael Pritchett, Dottie Tice, Kathy Robinson and George Wheatley Jr. and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Powley is preceded in death by two sisters Jean Todd and Darlene Abbott.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Powley, Grant Powley, Ian Powley, Zane Powley, Boo Powley and Curtis Phillips.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 12pm at Open Bible Church with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dorchester Seafood Heritage Association, 5209 Walnut Landing Road, Vienna, MD 21869. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. n Cambridge.
