Lisa A. Collison, 57, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home. She was born in Cambridge on August 26, 1963 and was a daughter of the late Roland E. Wheatley, Jr. and Bettye Dean Wheatley.
She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1981. Lisa had a house cleaning business. On November 18, 2011, she married Clifford “Chuck” O. Collison III. Lisa, also known as Momma and Mona, brought much joy to every person she met. She will be remembered for her loud singing in the kitchen and her unforgettable dance moves. Lisa had many hobbies, which she took great pride in. She enjoyed “dilly-dallying” in her flower beds, decorating her house for every holiday on the calendar-especially Christmas, and cleaning her home-even if it meant waking her kids up at 6am with the vacuum, while singing at the top of her lungs. There was never a speck of dust in her house. She was the happiest sitting on the beach all day long, soaking in the sun. She loved food, and would never leave a plate unless it was empty. She loved reading, and could finish an entire book in a few days, she “couldn’t wait to get to the ending.” She enjoyed watching movies, and listening to music. Janis Joplin, Alanis Morissette, and Bad Company were a few of her favorites. She was an incredible mother to not only her daughters, but all of their friends as well. She had her door and arms wide open for everyone. She was an amazing wife, always making sure her husband was taken care of-especially a full belly. Lisa especially loved her dogs, Rocky and Sofia. Lisa was not only a mother and wife, but she was also known as a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Lisa is survived by her husband Chuck Collison of Cambridge, two daughters Megan Plummer of Cambridge and Brea Plummer of South Carolina, a stepson Dustin Collison of East New Market, two step grandchildren Allison Collison and Dustin Collison, Jr., two sisters Sandy Brinsfield of Vienna, Kathy Leonard and husband Michael of Cambridge, two brothers James Wheatley of Trappe and Bobby Wheatley and wife Penny of East New Market, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lisa is preceded in death by a brother in law Dr. Russell Brinsfield.
Pallbearers will be Michael Leonard, Stephen Leonard, Chris Collison, Sr., Chris Collison, Jr., Eric Collison, and Dustin Collison.
