Lois Mowbray, 78, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Federalsburg on January 14, 1934 and was a daughter of the late Charles E. Harris, Sr. and Lydia Ruth Wheatley Harris.
She graduated from Federalsburg Senior High School. On March 1, 1952 she married Guy T. Mowbray. He passed away on March 23, 2006. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, collecting clowns, spend time with her grandchildren, playing games and taking care of others.
She is survived by six children Brad Mowbray of Cambridge, Keith Mowbray of Cambridge, Kenneth Mowbray and wife Dori of Delmar, Jo Ellen Robbins and husband David of Vienna, Alan Mowbray and companion Leslie Broomfield of Cambridge and Teresa Waller and partner Trina of Delmar, six grandchildren Kori Mowbray of Delmar, Bryan Rash of Pennsylvania, Josh Lively of Philadelphia, Nina Mowbray Singleton of Salisbury, Cody Robbins of Salisbury and Shane Alan Travers of California, nine great grandchildren, a sister Edna Mae Gordy of Cambridge, two brothers Charles E. Harris, Jr. and wife Betty of Florida and Robert Harris and wife Flora Lee Harris of California, dearest friends Anita Biggs of Rock Hall, Charlene Stagg of Cambridge and Mary Jane Keene of Cambridge, caregiver Geri Ann Cannon of Cambridge, a sister in law June and Willie Short of Salem and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mowbray is preceded in death by two sisters Annabelle Wasilewski, Cecil Williamson and a brother William Harris.
Pallbearers will be Brad Mowbray, Kenneth Mowbray, Alan Mowbray, Keith Mowbray, David Robbins and Cody Robbins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimers Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804 or to the American Parkinson's Disease Assoc., 4049 Oakland School Rd., Salisbury MD 21804.
