Loretta Mae Robinson

Loretta Mae Robinson, 84, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Coatesville, PA on May 1, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Mary Butler.

She moved to Delaware when she was an infant and attended schools in New Castle and Hockessin. Mrs. Robinson worked as a crab picker for most of her life at Meredith & Meredith. On February 2, 1968, she married James Gardner Robinson, who passed away on July 7, 2004. She had made her home at Toddville and had attended Zion United Methodist Church at Toddville. Since living in Cambridge, she had attended the First Baptist Church in Cambridge, where on occasion she would go out to dinner with some of the church members. She enjoyed going to Pleasant Day, where she did different activities including drawing, playing cards, playing bingo, making ceramics, painting and going on shopping trips. She had been staying at Special Home 2 for seven years where she had a special friend Mrs. Alice Kilmon and her caregivers Mrs. Sarah Jackson, Erica Pelt and other caregivers.

She is survived by two stepdaughters Norma Lee Robinson and her husband William C. Robinson of Cambridge and Gloria M. Ricklin and her husband George B. Ricklin of East New Market; six step grandchildren, Rhonda D. Moran, Cassie R. Hibble, William C. "Binky" Robinson II, Jeffrey S. "Peanut" Robinson, all of Cambridge, Lisa M. Wilson of East New Market and Walter P. "J.R." Bloom of Cambridge; 13 step great grandchildren and 9 step great great grandchildren. In addition to her mother and her husband, she is preceded in death by a half sister Katherine Walker.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Robinson, Binky Robinson, Chuck Robinson, Joe Hibble, J.R. Bloom and Jack Wilson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1p.m. at Zion United Methodist Churchyard in Toddville with Pastor Steve Trice officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Peggy Pritchett, 2513 Toddville Rd., Toddville, Md 21672.
