Lottie M. Insley, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Talbot Hospice in Easton. She was born in Hoopers Island on January 24, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Monroe T. and Blanche Aaron Simmons.
Mrs. Insley attended schools Hoopers Island. On April, 25, 1955, she married William Russell Insley, Sr., who passed away on January 9, 1992. She was a homemaker and she loved her children, enjoyed playing bingo and mud hopping. Mrs. Insley was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the 29th Division, St. Paul United Methodist Church and had been attending Bucktown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by five daughters Mollie Anderson of Cambridge, Elsie Insley (Mike) of Andrews, Naomi Robinson (Kevin) of Cambridge, Linda Holotik of Cambridge, Diane Thomas of Cambridge, four sons W. Russell Insley, Jr. (Traci) and Edward Phillips both of Cambridge, William Buddy Insley (Donna) of Mardela and Dickie Insley (Joan) of Elliott, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Mildred Brooks of Woolford, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Insley is preceded in death by a grandson Ricky Insley, two brothers Kendall Simmons, Monroe Simmons, three sisters, her twin Mary Bell Simmons, Doris Adams and Martha Foxwell.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hughes, Johnny Holotik, Reginald Thomas, Bill Elliott, Dale Insley, Sr., and Wayne Willey.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating. Interment will follow at the Insley Family Cemetery on Maple Dam Road. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 and from 10 to 11 on Wednesday.
