Louella R. Ruark, 79, of Hoopersville passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Crapo on October 17, 1933 and was a daughter of the late James and Modia Reynolds Adams.
She graduated from Crapo High School class of 1951. On June 24, 1951, she married Ralph A. Ruark, who passed away on February 23, 1979. Mrs. Ruark was a crab picker for Rippons Brothers Seafood, Ruark and Ashton Seafood and Jimmy Lynn's Seafood. She enjoyed reading and word search puzzles. Mrs. Ruark was a member of Hoopersville Memorial Church and Hoopersville Island Volunteer Fire Company.
She is survived by three daughters Donna Lynn Parks and husband Jimmy of Lewes, DE, Pamela Ruark Jones and husband Phil of Fishing Creek and Melody Dawn Ruark and husband Roy Moore of Lewes, DE, four sons Buddy A. Ruark, Jr. and wife Kris of Cambridge, Wayne A. Ruark and wife Lori of Fishing Creek, Richard V. Ruark and wife Karen of Fishing Creek, and Clarence Ruark and wife Janet of Hoopersville, grandchildren Jamie Lynn Shockley, Jimmy Parks, Jr., Shawnie Riley, Coty Jones, Nikki Ruark, Caleb Ruark, Brynn Yates, Lydia Yates, Amber Unsworth, Colleen Ruark, Ashley Booze, J.R. Kishpaugh and Nick Stultz, great grandchildren Shania Lynn Shockley, Austin Lee Shockley, Kevin George, Jr., Anthony Meekins, Evey Pickett and Emma Louise Simmons, a sister Mary Frances "Mannie" Dean of Wingate and a brother William Adams of Fenwick Island, DE, special sister in law Karen Ruark, a brother in law Donald Ruark and a sister in law Betty Lou Middleton and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Ruark is preceded in death by a sister Gloria Todd and three brothers Edward Lee Adams, James Monroe Adams and Wesley Alfred Adams.
Pallbearers will be Melody Ruark, Buddy Ruark, Wayne Ruark, Richard Ruark, Clarence Ruark and Shawnie Riley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Douglas M. Ridley and Rev. Joe Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
