Louis John Carr

January 12, 1938 — May 6, 2018

Louis Carr, 80, of Easton, who was loved and dearly missed, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his home. He was born in Philadelphia on January 12, 1938 and was a son of the late Delbert Carr and Sophia Rosiak Carr.

He was survived by his cousins and was referred to as "Uncle" to others.  He also had his close dear friends, that were like a second family, in Maryland.

Louis, Lou, Louie, Sonny "Uncle Sonny" -  these are the names his family in PA and MD called him. He was a unique guy to all of us. He was well read and self educated. He may not have had a college education, but knew so much more than many with initials behind their name. He could discuss and tell you almost anything concerning any topic. Gifted in many fields, creating beautiful floral design and upholstery. Louis also had natural culinary skills, baking and cooking from scratch. He was a patient man. A most gracious listener, who showed humility and sophistication. But for those of us who knew him well, he could stand his ground through his uncanny sharp wit and playful expression. Catching you off guard, he could make his point with a compliment and french twist, given at the same time!  We always enjoyed a laugh with his dry sense of humor, and could take us on a journey through his stories and impeccable memory, he graced us with wonderful moments... being himself.  He didn't have the easiest childhood, but was determined to live life & work so creatively.  He had such a knowledge of animals, especially his dogs, and loved and taught them.  His cherished little feathered pet & "sidekick", Tootsie, loved flying freely, landing on Lou's head!  "Sonny" spent much of his childhood into his teens, living with my sister's and I.  He was more than cousin, he will always be my brother and "Uncle Sonny" to my girls.  We will remember our long talks & visits.  He will be dearly missed - and always loved...and I thank God he was part of our lives.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 1 pm at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Trappe with Rev. Bob Hawkins officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Talbot Humane Society, 7894 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601.
