Louise M. Hurley

Louise M. Hurley, 85, of Hurlock passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Dorchester County on July 6, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Addison H. and Beatrice Richardson Murphy.
Mrs. Hurley was raised and attended school in Vienna. On December 20, 1941 she married Leon Hurley. He passed away on September 14, 1974. She had worked for a number of years at Airpax, but most of her life she was a homemaker. She was a member of Unity Washington United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by two daughters Suzanne Tyndall and husband Ralph of Hurlock and Lisa Anderson and husband Randall of Seaford, two sons L. Dale Hurley and wife Dale of Florida and D. Keith Hurley and wife Kathy of Hurlock, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter Charlene Wheatley and her husband Chuck of Hurlock, two sisters Claribel Edge of East New Market and Kathryn Hughes of East New Market, four brothers Donald L. Murphy of Salisbury, Kenneth G. Murphy of Fruitland, Norris "Jim" Murphy of Salisbury and Gene W. Murphy of Linkwood, a daughter in law Karen Hurley of Rhodesdale and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hurley is preceded in death by two sons Dennis Wayne Hurley and R. Allen Hurley, a brother Melvin A. Murphy, an aunt Viola Hurley and a daughter in law Rebecca Hurley.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Tyndall, Randall Anderson, Chuck Wheatley, Jason Trego, Frank Trego, Curtis Hulliger and Cory Pearson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at noon at Unity Washington United Methodist Church in Hurlock with Rev.'s Bonnie Shively and Lloyd Foard officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Washington Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Dorchester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company, 300 Charles Street, Hurlock, MD 21643. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
