Louise Jackson (Jackson) Maguire

Louise J. Maguire, 70, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Cambridge on November 30, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Cyril F. Jackson, Sr. and Stella Era Jackson.

Mrs. Maguire graduated from Cambridge High School. On February 15, 1969, she married Thomas H. Maguire, who passed away on October 2, 2009. She was a bookkeeper at National Bank of Cambridge, then a homemaker. Later, Mrs. Maguire went back to work at Airpax and then with Dorchester County Food Service for the Board of Education. She was also a substitute teacher mostly at Sandy Hill. Mrs. Maguire enjoyed listening to Country Music and being very sociable. As a child, she was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, and in 1969, she joined Grace United Methodist School.

She is survived by two daughters Jacqueline Lynn Sorrells and husband Phillip of Laurel, DE and Catherine Elizabeth Robinson and husband Stephen of Cambridge, six grandchildren Hannah Laurel Webber, Matthew Thomas Webber, Lucas Edward Webber, Logan Robert Robinson, Chyenne Louise Robinson, and Brice Gabriel Robinson, two step grandchildren Cameron Taylor Sorrells and Kaleb J. Sorrells, sister Mary Moore of Cambridge, brother Phillip Butch Jackson, and sister Victoria Kemp and husband Greg of Secretary and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Maguire is preceded in death by three brothers Thomas Jackson, Cyril Jackson, Jr. and Bill Jackson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1 pm at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Christina Blake and Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shore Regional Cancer Center, 509 Idlewild Ave., Ste. 1, Easton, MD 21601. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
