Lucille Fitzhugh, 87, of Easton formerly of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at UMSMC at Easton. She was born in Cambridge on April 7, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Alfred and Berlie Abbott McClain.
She attended schools in Cambridge. On July 28, 1945, she married William E. Fitzhugh who passed away on May 29, 1992. Mrs. Fitzhugh was employed at Rob Roy and later stayed at home to take care of her parents. She enjoyed word find books and listening to gospel music. Mrs. Fitzhugh was a member of Easton Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter Alma Willey and husband Bird, Jr. of Easton, two grandchildren Joe Willey and wife Kristen of Princess Anne and Jennifer Fulton and husband Jason of Bridgeville, DE, six great grandchildren Aaron Fulton, William Fulton, Jack Willey, Gabriel Willey, Nathan Willey and Liam Willey, two sisters in law Vera Ruth McClain of Cleveland, TN and Ruth Squires of Linkwood, a brother in law Meade Fitzhugh of Cambridge, and several nieces, nephews and one special nephew David McClain of Cleveland, TN. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Fitzhugh is preceded in death by two sisters Hilda Robinson and Betty Wheatley and a brother Harold McClain.
Pallbearers will be David Boyd, Chuck Cusick, AJ Cusick, Jeff Cusick, Rick Parker and John Willey.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Pastor Keith Maxwell and Pastor David Shawyer from the Church of God. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
