Lula B. Spicer

Lula B. Spicer, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Greensboro, NC on October 28, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Clifton and Rosa Daniels Haughton.

Mrs. Spicer attended and graduated from high school in North Carolina. On June 1, 1945 she married Moses Spicer. He passed away on July 8, 1999. She had worked at Cambridge High School in the cafeteria and later became a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing the piano and loved her family. She was associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by a daughter Gloria Spicer-Bouler and husband Joseph of Cambridge, a granddaughter Serena Johnson and husband Rick Johnson, Sr. of Salisbury, two great grandchildren Shaneka Brown of Jacksonville, FL and Richard Johnson II of Salisbury and four great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Spicer is preceded in death by a son Calvin Spicer and several brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
