Malinda R. Bloodsworth, 80 of Cambridge, passed away at the Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge on Monday, March 8, 2010. She was born at Bishops Head on July 14, 1929, and was a daughter of the late Bichell and Edna Woodland Ruark.
She attended schools at Bishops Head and graduated from Crapo High School in 1946. She was married to Morris W. Bloodsworth on January 13, 1973. Mr. Bloodsworth passed away on August 2, 2009. Mrs. Bloodsworth worked at Airpax in Cambridge for 25 years until she retired in 1991. She was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church at Crocheron, and enjoyed being on the water, fishing and crabbing, gardening as well as reading. Mrs. Bloodsworth had been in failing health for the past year when she passed away on Monday morning.
Survivors include three nieces Candace White and her husband Greg White of Berlin, and Trudy Jones and her husband Don Jones of Church Creek, Patti Hall of Ocean Pines and special friends, James and Lena Wallace Fitzhugh and Phillips and Julia Willey. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Ralph Ruark and Cyril Ruark.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. George W. Wheatley, Jr. and the Rev. Pardee Bramble officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Mary Todd, General Delivery, Crocheron, Maryland 21627 or to St. Thomas United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Phyllis Mills, 1817 Bishops Head Road, Bishops Head, MD 21672. Pallbearers will be Earl Todd, William "Snooks" Windsor, George L. Murphy, Allan Keene, Reginald Todd and Edwin Todd.
