Marian F. Gore, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at her home. She was born in Woolford on January 6, 1931 and was a daughter of the late John A. and Leila Goslin Fitzhugh.
She attended Cambridge High School. Mrs. Gore was married to Edgar I. Gore who passed away in 2002. In her earlier years she was employed at Airpax and later worked and retired from the Dorchester County Treasurers Office. After she retired, Mrs. Gore was an assistant to her son at Oasis Marine. She enjoyed gardening and her dogs Lex and C.J. Mrs. Gore was a member of the Cambridge Elks Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son Timothy Gore and companion Dana Lowe and her daughter Rebecca of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Gore is preceded in death by three sisters Bernice Elliott, Aileen Condon and her twin Marjorie Cave, three brothers Leon Fitzhugh, Arthur Fitzhugh and John Fitzhugh, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Gore, Ronnie Bell, Jerol Moore, Jr., Frank Hurley, Mike Rossy, Jr. and Kemper Cave.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
