She attended schools at Bishops Head. On February 26, 1946 she was married to Louis T. Marshall. He passed away on August 16, 1981. Brownie worked at Acme in Cambridge as a cashier for 24 years until she retired in 1983. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cambridge, and had been active in the church as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises and reading. She had been in failing health for the past year when she passed away on Wednesday morning.
Survivors Include 2 daughters Linda M. Dukes and her husband Ronnie Dukes of East New Market, Dottie M. Griffith and her husband Tary Griffith of Cambridge, four grandsons Artie Dukes, Ricky Dukes, Brian Dukes and Tommy Bramble, eight great grandchildren, 2 step daughters Sylvia Satterfield of Cambridge and Darlene Jones of Cambridge, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, one sister Starr Trego and her husband Hubert C. Trego of Cambridge. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a step son Richard Marshall and four brothers Rudy Pritchett, George (Bobby) Pritchett, Waldo Pritchett and Lindy Pritchett.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Fred Bahr officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service. Pallbearers will be Artie Dukes, Ricky Dukes, Brian Dukes, Tommy Bramble Ronnie, Dukes and Tary Griffith.
