Marian Elizabeth (Cook) Moore

September 10, 1942 — April 4, 2018

Marian Elizabeth Moore (Cook) was called home on Wednesday April 4,  2018 at the UMSMC at Dorchester.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Marian was born on September 10, 1942.  She was the daughter of the late Wheatley and Helen Cook.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, N. Lee Spear (Mary), Louise Windsor (Sonny), Faye Bell (Leroy), Alice Olp (Bud), and Betty Harrison.  And her beloved dog Bozie.

She is survived by the love of her life Elwood Elzey and his family.  Sister Josephine Saulsbury of Cambridge and her children, Tracy Moore (Andy) Portland, Me., Timothy Moore (Lisa) Cambridge, Md. And Bobbie Ellis (Andy) of Statesville, NC.

Grandchildren Timothy Moore, Christopher Moore, and Chad Allen all of Cambridge, Md. Jonathan Moore (Nicole) of Alexandria, Va., Brandon Hill of Homer Alaska, and Victoria Moore of Easton, Md.

Three Great Grandchildren, Kaydence and Ryker Moore of Cambridge, Md. And Charlotte Moore of Alexandria, Va.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marian and Elwood have made their home in Madison, Md for 37 years.  Their door was always open to all.  A place where family and friends gathered together for delicious meals and lots of laughter.  Marian had a big heart for animals; her home was a refuge for a many stray cat.

In her younger years, she worked in the food service industry.  She had a gift/talent for Interior Design.  Marian was also an avid bowler and softball player.

Her quick wit and fiery spirit made her a fan of so many.  Life was never dull with Marian around.  While faced with many health adversities, Marian always had a winning attitude.  Nothing in life did or could hold her down.  All that knew her were inspired by her strength and will.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 14th at 2 pm with Dinner Celebration following at Bay Country Church 714 Locust Street in Cambridge, MD with Pastor Jayson Bleyer officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.  In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in Marian’s name to Baywater Animal Rescue at 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge MD, 21613.
