Marion Windsor Powley

Marion W. "Turk" Powley, 87, of Rhodesdale passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her home. She was born in Wingate on May 4, 1927 to the late Willis J. Windsor, Sr. and Mildred Tawes Windsor.
Mrs. Powley attended schools in Wingate. She worked as a crab picker. On December 24, 1943 she married Robert E. Powley, who passed away on April 26, 1993. Marion enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters Delores "Dee" Renehan and husband John of Rhodesdale and Donna Powley of Cambridge, five grandchildren Bobbie Ann Renehan of Easton, Shannon Ambrose of Cambridge, Patrick Bullen and wife Jessica of Denver, Colorado, Robert Bullen of Cambridge and John Renehan II and wife Amber of Rhodesdale, eleven great grandchildren, three brothers William Franklin Windsor of Wingate, Vernon O'Neal Windsor of Wingate, and William Hudson Windsor and wife Doris of Wingate and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Powley is preceded in death by four brothers Willis Jester "Buster" Windsor, Willis Cleveland "Sonny" Windsor, Jr., Charles Turner, Sr. and Robert Ronald Windsor and three sisters Marybelle Causey, Reba Disharoon and Elizabeth Pritchett.
Pallbearers will be John Renehan, John Renehan II, Patrick Bullen, Robert Bullen, John Owens and Nicholas Schmick.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Pastor George W. Wheatley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
