Mary M. (Brinsfield) Duvall

Mary M. Duvall, 65, of Cambridge passed away on August 16, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born in Cambridge on March 3, 1952 to the late Melvin and Mildred Sands Brinsfield.

Mary attended schools in Dorchester County, and she graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1970.  After high school, she began farming, which she absolutely loved. She also worked for many years with the Dorchester County Public School System, mainly involved with North Dorchester High School and North Dorchester Middle School.  She also worked for many years in the Cambridge Walmart Garden Center.  On June 1, 1995, she married James C. Duvall, with whom she spent 22 loving years.  Mary loved being outdoors.  Whether it was camping, fishing, gardening, or farming she just enjoyed being outside.  She enjoyed spending time with family any time she could, and definitely loved her grandchildren.  Mary also enjoyed crocheting and completing word searches.

Mary is survived by her husband James Duvall of Cambridge, three children Christine Brode of Cambridge, Michael Graham and his wife Debbie of East New Market, and Danielle Graham of East New Market, eight grandchildren Corporal Allen Brode of Sarasota, Florida, Justin Brode of East New Market, James Brode of Cambridge, Rodrigo Lopez, Michael Graham, Jr., Gabriel Graham, Jonathan Graham, and Daniel Graham all of East New Market, two great-grandchildren Olivia Brode and Logan Brode of East New Market, two sisters Margaret Johnson of Mardela and Dorothy Johnson of East New Market, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers in law Benjamin Johnson and Jacob Johnson.

Pallbearers will be James Brode, Justin Brode, Rodrigo Lopez, Michael Graham, Jr., Gabriel Graham, Jason Duvall, and Woody Bramble.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Graham, Daniel Graham, Logan Brode, and Olivia Brode.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. at 1 PM with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating.  Interment will follow at Slacum Family Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM.  A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the Faith Baptist Fellowship Hall, 1312 Race St. Cambridge, MD 21613.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hebron Savings bank C/O the Mary Martha Duvall Funeral Fund, 6 Cedar St. Cambridge, MD.
