Mary Magdalene Mills

Mary Magdalene Mills, 92, of Golden Hill passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born in Lakesville on February 14, 1932 and was a daughter of the late Logan Benjamin Parks and Rosa Elizabeth Woodland Parks.

She attended schools in South Dorchester. On December 1, 1962 she married Dewey Shriver Mills who passed away on December 11, 2003. Mrs. Mills worked as a waitress and picked crabs. She enjoyed growing vegetables, where she shared with her family and friends. Mrs. Mills also loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren where she enjoyed teaching them to play Domino's and checkers. She also enjoyed spending time with her cats and dogs which were dear to her and also enjoyed her shopping trips with her granddaughter Brittany. 

She is survived by two daughters Pam Travers and husband Junior of Vienna, and Michelle Gomez and husband Richard of Preston, five grandchildren Christopher Travers and wife Brittani, Brittany Simmons, Bryant Simmons and Colleen, and Mikala Harrison, and Tara Gomez, five great grandchildren Levi, Paisley, Waylon, and one on the way, Harper and Emma Simmons, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mills is preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers Maude, Rhida, Flora, Dora, Martha, Charles, Johnnie, Logan and Asbury and a very special nephew Gary Parks. 

Pallbearers will be Chris Travers, Eddie Simmons, Richard Gomez, Carlie Thomas, Jason Mills, and Nick Gootee. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Simmons, Junior Travers, and Mark Flowers, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Barbara Mills-Neighoff officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
