Mary Ellen Morris

Mary Ellen Morris, 83, formerly of Toddville and most recently of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was born in Bishops Head on June 2, 1929 to the late Preston and Madelene McGlaughlin Meredith.

She attended schools in South Dorchester and graduated from Crapo High School in 1946. She married R. Wallace Morris on September 10, 1948, who passed away on February 11, 2010. Mrs. Morris worked as a group leader at Airpax for 14 years. She enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels, enjoyed collecting antiques at yard sales and some years ago enjoyed making quilts. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Toddville and attended when she lived there. She had lived in Mallard Bay for four years and most recently Chesapeake Woods Center.

She is survived by a son Vincent W. Morris of Cambridge and a sister in law Patsy Meredith of Cambridge. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by a daughter Donna M. Marshall and a brother Calvert Meredith.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Hart, Roger Morris, Jay Mills, Jay Robinson, Robert Pritchett and Keith Morris. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. with Pastor David Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
