Mary Fannie Stevens, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her home. She was born in Vienna on October 25, 1918 and was a daughter of the late John W. and Sarah Roberson Mowbray.
She graduated from Cambridge High School. On February 5, 1940, she married Frederick L. Stevens who passed away on September 20, 1992. Mrs. Stevens was a bookkeeper for Phillips Hardware and Robinson Chemical Company. She enjoyed reading, word searches and gardening. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Cambridge Lodge #1272 B.P.O.E. Elks and AARP.
She is survived by two sons Frederick L. Stevens, Jr. and wife Deanna of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Franklin M. Stevens and wife Patricia of Minneapolis, Minn., two grandchildren Michelle Hart and husband Patrick and Michael Stevens and wife Lynn, six great grandchildren Spencer, Avery and Cadence Stevens, and Noah, Ryan and Ethan Hart, a brother Edward Mowbray of Myrtle Beach, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband Mrs. Stevens is preceded in death by two sisters Anna Dawkins and Margaret Haefner, and six brothers L. Vernon Mowbray, J. Martin Mowbray, Norman R. Mowbray, Elmer E. Mowbray, Wray W. Mowbray and Calvin W. Mowbray.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 1p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Churchyard. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
