Mary Ruth (Brotemarkle) Brotemarkle

Mary Ruth Brotemarkle, 72, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at UMSMC at Easton. She was born in Cambridge on June 24, 1944 and was a daughter of the late William A. Brotemarkle, Jr. and Mattie Wright Brotemarkle.
She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1962 and graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelors of Arts. Mary Ruth worked at the Vienna Elementary School as a librarian and later at the Dorchester County Library and retired in July of 2005. After retirement, she volunteered at the Cambridge Christian Academy, the Food Pantry and Channel Markers. Mary Ruth was an avid reader. She was a charter member of the Chorus of Dorchester, and an active member at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister Dana Park and husband Donald of Greensburg, PA, a niece Kristin Adams, two nephews Sean Park and David Park, an uncle William N. Wright, Sr. of Cambridge, two great nephews and four great nieces and numerous cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Bonnie Shively officiating. Interment will take place on Monday at 11 am at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 at Thomas Funeral Home, P. A. in Cambridge.
